Beyond dream - a wonderful reality :)
scribbled by Anonymous on Saturday, November 24, 2007 Labels: Daily Snippets, Family and Friend Time, Home, india, Me+U=WE Saturday, November 24, 2007We are both very excited for 2 important reasons:
1) Tarun's parents (my in-laws) are visiting from India for a few months. We are so excited and can't help giggling all the time! For us, it is important to be surrounded and blessed by loved ones (family) all the time, especially since we are so far away from everyone. This is the time to catch up, share laughter, tears, more laughter, seek blessings and advice that keeps both of us grounded in life. I don't know for others, but for us, with the blessings of our parents and families, life seems blissful and worth living :) A pillar of support and guidance from elders should play a very important role in our life?s.
2) Our new home is almost ready to move into. What a great timing! Ma and papa are also very excited. It would be a first moving experience in US for them, as well as for me.
Tarun is a seasoned mover. He has moved to many locations in US since arriving here more than 2 years ago. "Oh no! Packing again?" I can't stomach the idea of the packing-moving-unpacking process. "Honey, please provide your expertise in this matter?".

QotD: Everybody Change!
scribbled by Anonymous on Saturday, November 17, 2007 Labels: Me+U=WE, Question of the Day, Review Saturday, November 17, 2007If you could get everyone in the world to change their behavior in one way, what would you have them do differently?
I would make all the buggers drive less. People drive aimlessly here and there and we have war surrounding oil issues.
Oil is still in abundance yet we are still fighting. Think about 30 years from now where there would be very less of oil supply and increase in deadly weapons.
So I want people to drive as less as possible :)
But I can't write anymore now since I am going out for a drive with my wife :)

QotD: Hey, I Was Just A Kid!
scribbled by Anonymous on Thursday, November 15, 2007 Labels: Family and Friend Time, malaysia, Question of the Day Thursday, November 15, 2007What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day?
While growing up, my family raised baby chickens, correct term 'chicks' in our backyard at my hometown in Malaysia. I was 5 or 6 years old when I started adoring chicks. I played endlessly and sometimes refuse to eat my meals unless the chicks ate with me as well. I know it sounds weird, but I was so young at that time *blush*.
One morning, my dad took me to the local supermarket to get some meat from our butcher. I was so excited when we arrived. I saw chicks are sold in the market as well. But I was more intrigued with the variety of colors on the furry feathers of the chicks. I was so anxious to own all of them. Heck, dad had to buy for me. I got them home and immediately try to get the colored chicks acquainted with the dull ones.

QotD: Makes me wonder...
scribbled by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 Labels: Blogging, Family and Friend Time, Happy Day, MBA, Me+U=WE, Question of the Day Wednesday, November 14, 2007Which person from your past, who you've lost touch with, do you wonder about the most?
Lately, I have been thinking so much about one of my childhood friend. It's been 15 years since we last communicated. From a reliable source, I was told that Daljeen is in USA, studying psychology. I have been searching her high and low ever since. Her birth date is on Nov 7th 1979. I miss her dearly. I don't even know where is she located in USA. I have tried many resources, such as reunion and peoplefinder for more details on her whereabouts. I just wished someday she would come across my blog and recognize me. Or some miracle happens, such as meeting her in a supermarket? Or at a book store? How I wished it was simple.
She was such as sweet, caring and helpful friend. And I am sure she continues carrying herself well till today. She was the one who taught me how to play the piano, one of my favorite childhood hobby. I didn't and still don't own a piano, but Daljeen never once made me uncomfortable. Rather, she would always try to accommodate and taught me what I needed to know about piano.
Someday, I hope to meet her and re-kindle our friendship.

Bella mushroom & sun-dried tomatoes linguine
scribbled by Anonymous on Tuesday, November 06, 2007 Labels: Munchies, Recipe of the DayThough I do enjoy cooking, rather than eating out, it is some times difficult to get my mind around what I should cook daily. What should I cook today? What should I cook for lunch? I made some pasta for lunch yesterday and thought to share the 'recipe of the day' with everyone. I used linguine, but you use whatever pasta you have in your pantry.
1/2 box of pasta
2 1/2 cups of water
Pinch of salt
Method: Boil water. Add a pinch of salt and pasta into boiling water. Cook pasta between 8-10 minutes till al dente (have a bite to the pasta, try not to over-cook it :P).
As for the sauce:
2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup Mushrooms (any would do, I used baby bella)
1/2 tsp chili pepper flakes
1 large shallot
3 garlic cloves
4 pieces of sundried tomatoes (regular roma tomatoes would do)
3 tbsp of Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp of dried basil
Some Italian parsley for garnish
Method: Heat a skillet with e.v.o oil. Add shallots, pepper flakes and garlic. Fry till fragrant. Add mushrooms, and cook through. Toss in sundried tomatoes, dried basil, salt and black pepper. Add cooked pasta and stir up. Add some preserved pasta water to thicken the sauce. Finally, garnish with parmesan cheese and italian parsley. Voila! Bon appetite!

p/s: Sorry folks, no picture as all were saved some where, but now it is not there! LOL!

Our first post!
scribbled by Anonymous on Thursday, November 01, 2007 Labels: Blogging, Daily Snippets, Favorite Time, Me+U=WE, MunchiesHi everyone,
We are very happy our blog is up! As for maintaining the blog, I would be in charge of it. Hubby is busy all the time (love him lots though ;). Woke up pretty late today, since it was Sunday. Had a late brunch, ran some errands around the house, watched tv and Tarun (hubby) was bored. Eventually, we planned and went out for dinner and light shopping. Went to dine at Panera Bread, a local Italian bakery. We both ordered yummy wild rice with chicken soup and chicken pomodoro panini.
Got to go now, need to catch on some sleep!
